BBL Championship
Manchester Giants 83-86 London Lions (14-18, 34-42, 55-60)

London Lions moved clear at the top of the BBL Championship after holding off Manchester Giants on the road.

The Lions move to 6-1 ahead of the Bristol Flyers after their 10th win in a row against the Giants, who are now 2-3 after another home loss.

The Lions went ahead almost from tip to buzzer with the Giants taking a one point lead midway through the first quarter but the visitors took that stanza, 14-18 and led the rest of the way.

Sharp shooting from League MVP, Justin Robinson meant they also led 34-42 at half time. Missing Flo Larkai and Lamar Roberts, the Lions battled inside against foul trouble but managed the game out.

James Jones’ three brought the Giants back within a single score at 65-68 before the Lions responded with a 10-0 run to re-establish control with a double-digit advantage. A late surge from the Giants kept it close late on, but the visitors held firm.

A superb 20 from 22 at the free throw line for the Lions contributed as Robinson nailed 22 points whilst Brandon Peel notched 19 and 7 boards, however it was defensively where McCall and Butler were held for a total 5 points.
