The London Lions will mark the Armistice Centenary with a minute’s silence prior to Sunday’s BBL Cup Quarter Final against Worcester Wolves. The game takes place 18th November 4pm at the Copper Box Arena, Olympic Park, Stratford, London (doors open 3pm).
This Sunday’s match up with the Wolves is the Club’s nearest league fixture to Remembrance Weekend and will therefore use the match to pay its respects to servicemen and women who have given their lives in combat. The Club will ask spectators to observe a minute’s silence prior to tip – a silence which will begin and end with the referee’s whistle.
Furthermore, veterans, serving soldiers and cadets are entitled to a FREE ticket to this weekend’s match. Eligible supporters can claim their complimentary ticket at the Box Office by producing appropriate ID; to reserve the ticket just email firstname.lastname@example.org and quote ‘Troops’. Accompanying friends and family can purchase tickets for just £10 from the Box Office!
Tickets can also be acquired online via Tickets for Troops to serving members of HM Armed Forces or those who have been medically discharged from the Forces since the commencement of military action in Afghanistan in 2001. Serving members include both Regulars and Reserves. London Lions have been supporting Tickets 4 Troops now for over 5 years.
