Gustafson joined the Lions as a proven scorer in both the States and Europe. The Wisconsin-born centre spent four years at Iowa, averaging 27.8 points and 13.4 rebounds in her final season. Her time in college was saturated with accolades as she tied the single season NCAA record for 33 double-doubles (33) whilst breaking the record for field goals made (412). The 6’4 talent was named as the Big Ten Conference Women’s Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019 whilst also being gifted a range of other awards. The Hawkeyes product also picked up the Naismith Trophy in 2019 and saw her no.10 jersey retired – becoming just the second-ever woman to achieve this In 2019, Gustafson was selected by the Dallas Wings with the 17th pick in the WNBA Draft. She went on to play for the Washington Mystics and Phoenix Mercury before having a dominant stint in Europe. Before joining the Lions, Megan averaged 22.6 points and 9.4 rebounds in the EuroLeague for Greek club, Olympiacos.
