BBL Cup South Group
London Lions 98 – 87 Surrey Scorchers (20-19, 51-43, 75-68)

The BBL Cup South Group stages came to an end Saturday night with Defending Champions, London Lions taking the remaining Quarter Finals spot from Surrey Scorchers.

Last month’s Player of the Month winner, Brandon Peel, poured in 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Lions keeping his average of a double-double each game alive. Justin Robinson also added 17 points, commanding the floor from start to finish.
The Scorchers looked to be in good shape in the first half as they survived an early Lions run led by Peel and Alioune Tew, by the end of the first quarter, there was not a lot in it at 20-19 to the hosts.

James Hawthorne was having one of his best games in a Scorchers uniform quickly notching up 17 points in the first half with an array of three-point shots and rim rattling dunks. The Lions rotated their entire bench as some good interplay between Robinson and Joe Ikhinmwin made sure Lions led, 51-43 at half.
The Lions came out strong in the third quarter. Jorge Romero drained a pair of triples and Jules Dang Akodo was on his way to 16 points in 18 minutes of action.

Marcus White and Skylar White for the visitors dug deep but the superior Lions bench would combine for 31 points as the Lions cruised through to a Quarter-Final encounter in Leicester on the 29th of November.
James Hawthorne tallied 25 points and eight rebounds whilst Justin Robinson had 17 points 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Ali Tew chipped in with 13 points and 6 boards.
