London Lions continue at the top of the BBL Championship after beating Cheshire Phoenix 94-78 at the Copper Box Arena.
Justin Robinson scored 19 points, while Buay Tuach had a perfect shooting night – hitting all seven of his shots – en route to 16 points, matched by Ovie Soko.
Lions came in on the back of two previous defeats, however they made it five straight home wins after winning the opening quarter 26-15 when Captain Joe Ikhinmwin came off the bench to hit five points in a row.

A 9-4 start to the second was emphasised by Tuach’s dunk and Jordan Whelan’s three pointer. The huge crowd were entertained as the Lions ran the ball and created opportunities. With Andre Lockhart hitting 4 unanswered the only resistance weas coming from former Lion, Demonte Flannigan as the Lions entered the locker room 44-29 to the good.

Robinson and Tuach combined for the Lions’ opening 12 points of the third before Ali Tew hammered home a dunk as the lead grew to over 20 points at 58-33. Phoenix rallied back and Flannigan’s score at the end of the third made it 72-56.

The fourth saw more from the visitors as their shots suddenly fell and the Lions going dry, but with 45 points off the bench Lions found scorers across the board to take the victory, 94-78.
With every Lion on the score sheet, Robinson’s 19 were supported by 16 apiece from Soko and Tuach whilst Ikhinmwin had 12 and Whelan 11. Flannigan led Cheshire with 27.
