The London Lions have added 6’8” forward Orlando Parker to their squad just ahead of BBL League action starting in 11 days

The 6’8” Forward graduated from Wagner College in the US and most recently completed four seasons with PS Karlsruhe in Pro A Germany where he averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds a game. A career high of 37 points in a win over Rostock meant the 28 year old was on the Lions’ radar.

The new Lion added, “I am glad to be in London and taking an opportunity such as this, I look forward to meeting with my team mates and working together to play good basketball.”

Lions Head Coach, Vince Macaulay had this to say, “We needed to address our inbalance, Byron Mullens is still away till the end of the month on a family matter in the US whilst injuries to Shane Walker, Josh Ward-Hibbert and Joe Ikhinmwin have hurt us in this area. Orlando is an athletic guy that can shoot the ball but most importantly likes to rebound and work the glass, I believe his game will suit the BBL well.”

Parker may see action in the Lions games this weekend Friday night when the Lions travel to the Newcastle Eagles and Sunday at the Copper Box Arena versus the Leicester Riders at 2.30pm, the game being live streamed on the Lions website for our fans..

In a related move, Coach Macaulay confirmed that Centre, Kervin Bristol, had been de-registered from the BBL Team though currently remained on staff.
