London, UK — Wednesday, 17 December 2025 — The London Lions pulled out a dramatic 98–96 overtime victory over Beşiktaş at the Copper Box Arena, powered by clutch execution late and a composed return from Shavar Reynolds Jr. in his first EuroCup game back after a two-month injury absence.
“An emotional, big win against the hottest team,” said Lions Head Coach Tautvydas Sabonis. “The guys understood the game plan and executed it. I’m very happy for them because they really deserved this win, and I’m very happy to have Shavar back in the EuroCup.”
Reynolds led all scorers with 20 points, shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, including the final two with 1.8 seconds remaining to seal the win. Jonathan Williams delivered a strong two-way performance with 18 points and a pivotal three in overtime, while Kameron McGusty added 14 points, four assists, and steady shot creation throughout the night. Karolis Lukošiūnas chipped in 12 points, knocking down four of five from deep to spark London’s comeback.
The first three quarters were tightly contested, with Beşiktaş controlling tempo and second-chance opportunities for stretches, while the Lions stayed connected through balanced scoring to enter the fourth quarter trailing 73–66.
The game turned gritty in the final period as London’s defensive pressure forced repeated Beşiktaş turnovers, allowing the Lions to claw back possession by possession.
A huge three from Lukošiūnas cut the deficit to two, before Reynolds tied the game and later gave London the lead at the line with 15.8 seconds left in the game.
With seconds remaining, Beşiktaş forced overtime after Anthony Brown converted three free throws following a foul on a late three-point attempt.
Overtime was defined by poise. Jonathan Williams drilled a massive three to push London ahead, but Beşiktaş answered with a deep triple of their own to level the score once again.
With the game hanging in the balance, Reynolds attacked, drew contact, and calmly sank both free throws in the final seconds, lifting the Lions to a hard-fought 98–96 victory and sending the Copper Box crowd into celebration.
The Lions return to SLB action on Friday night, hosting Manchester at the Copper Box Arena with tip-off set for 7:30 PM.
