British Basketball League Regular Season
Captained by club-legend Tayo Ogedengbe, the Scorchers are a Guildford-based franchise formally known as Surrey United and one of the youngest teams in the BBL.
Although the club’s overall history boasts one league title, one BBL Championship final victory, a BBL Cup title and one BBL Trophy title, these honours were claimed when the team was known as the Guildford Heat (circa 2005-2012). Surrey last qualified for the playoffs at the end of the 2017-18 season.
With Sky Sports in the building, the Lions have a chance to secure their second league title in club history with a win against Surrey (as long as Leicester beat Bristol).
London leads the regular season series versus Surrey 3-0. Lions beat the Scorchers 88-62 in their last encounter on Valentine’s Day, when Luke Nelson came off the bench to record a 17-point, 9-assist and 3-steal performance.
