British Basketball League Regular Season
The Caledonia Gladiators are the only BBL franchise situated north of the border in Scotland. Boasting a 28-year history, the Glasgow-based club was originally established as the Edinburgh Rocks in 1998 before switching to the Glasgow Rocks in 2009.
However, after their ownership group purchased the club, the franchise rebranded as the Caledonia Gladiators before the start of the 2022-23 season. The club is led by former player Gareth Murray, who took the reins in 2020, initially as a player-coach.
The London Lions currently hold a 2-0 lead in their season series, beating the Gladiators 95-87 at home in the first game and then 84-60 in the road game.
However, Caledonia recently knocked the London Lions out of the BBL Trophy, beating the British-capital-based club 52-50 in a hard-fought nail-biter.
