London Capital League
The London Capital League is London's own city-wide basketball league, powered by the London Lions. It tips off in 2026/27 with the London Capital Cup — a competition between the capital's local league teams — before the full league launches in 2027/28.

The London Capital Cup

Who has the best local league team in London? Every squad in the capital has asked it — and until now there's been no way to find out. The London Capital Cup gives London's recreational teams the chance to settle it on court, and to have some fun doing it.
The first competition of its kind in the capital, the Cup sits alongside London's existing local leagues rather than replacing them — a city-wide, inclusive competition that gives recreational teams a real competitive structure, a prestigious stage and a digital presence to match. And it's powered by the London Lions, so behind every fixture stands the club that represents London at professional level.
Competition Structure
1. Divisions
Teams are drawn into divisions based on their area of London, so the early rounds stay local.
2. Divisional Round
A single-game league format within your division — one fixture against each opponent, not home and away.
3. Playoffs
The top two in each division cross over into a city-wide playoff bracket, with the higher seed drawn at home.
4. The Final
A neutral-venue final at the Copper Box Arena, staged around a London Lions playoff game.
1 February 2027
All divisional fixtures complete.
15 February 2027
Playoffs tip off.
March / April 2027
The Final at the Copper Box Arena — date set around the SLB playoffs.
More Than A Final
The London Capital Cup Final isn't a Sunday sports hall booking. It's staged at the Copper Box Arena ahead of a London Lions playoff game — with the full game-night treatment.
The Stage
Player introductions, DJ and the big screen at the Copper Box Arena, before the Lions take the floor.
The Kit
Both finalists get a free London Capital Cup t-shirt to play the final in — and keep afterwards.
The Moment
The winners are presented with the trophy on court during the Lions game, in front of the Copper Box crowd.
Then Comes The League
The Cup is the opening act. From 2027/28, the London Capital League turns city-wide competition into a full season — regular fixtures, standings, and a route from your local run to the biggest stage in London basketball. Structure and entry details will be announced during the Cup's first season.
