The Lions win their eighth straight game against the Riders - as they moving to 15-2 in the British Basketball League.

Conor Morgan continued his excellent form by putting up 19 points in just 21 minutes at the Morningside Arena.

After picking up another crucial European road win 72 hours prior, the Lions were back in action for Friday night hoops - lacing up against the oldest British Basketball League team in the Leicester Riders.

It’s been well established that London have been slow starters in games this year, typically clicking into gear in the latter stages of the matches. Once again, this was the case in the Midlands as the two teams finished the first quarter evenly matched.

Although the Riders closed the opening 10 minutes strongly by knocking down a range of shots from deep, the Lions found their rhythm in the second quarter. Petar Boźić’s team found themselves on a 32-16 run heading into halftime after bombarding Leicester with a string of successful offensive plays.

The home side responded well in the third quarter, but London ensured that their lead was not trimmed by anything more than three points.

The reigning champions continued to shoot excellently until the very end of the game, with their overall percentage for the night being just over 52%. The Riders too looked dangerous, particularly from behind the arc, with Conner Washington draining five three-pointers of his own.

Although Matt Morgan struggled to find his usual shooting form, his teammates were able to chip in to get London over the line for their 15th victory in 17 domestic games.

The team will now look ahead to 48 hours time, where they will play the Caledonia Gladiators in the first part of Sunday’s double-header in East London.
