Caledonia Gladiators End London Lions 52-Game Win Streak, with 67-68 Win. Late Game Foul Call Helps Condemn Lions to First Domestic Lossof the Season. “Kiki” Herbert Harrigan Records Game-high 26 Points Off Bench.

The Lions started the game poorly, recording a season (domestic and Europe) low of 6 points in the first quarter. Although the second period saw the home team clock in a team-high 23 points, the Scottish outfit held them at bay with 13 points.

The Gladiators went into the third quarter with a 29-36, which they fought hard not to relinquish. By the end of the period, the franchise formally known as the Caledonia Pride had extended their lead to nine points, holding onto a 47-65 going into the fourth.

Having chased the game for just over thirty-eight minutes, London finally took the lead with 01:57 left on the clock in the fourth (65-64). However, this was short-lived, as Abbie Wolf put the Gladiators but up by one point.

An errant foul call on Shanice Beckford-Norton seemingly decided the tooth-and-nail fiasco. The skipper was called for a foul on fellow GB national player Chantelle Handy, who knocked down both charity line shots to give Caledonia the 67-68.

“Kiki” Herbert Harrigan contributed 26 points, six rebounds, two steals and one block off the bench. Holly Winterburn recorded 11 points, three rebounds and five assists. Captain Shanice Beckford-Norton clocked in 10 points, one rebound and one steal.
