London Lions Sweep Regular Season Series 4-0 vs Leicester Riders for the First Time with Hard Fought 83-81 Victory. Player of the Game, Miye Oni, Erupts for 18 Points to Help London Power Past the Riders

Despite letting their 20-point lead wither away, the London Lions claimed another victory over East Midlanders, the Leicester Riders.

Nigerian national star Miye Oni was crowned Player of the Game for his outstanding 18-point, 4-rebound, and 3-assist performance. Despite fouling out, the 2-way guard hit two vital triples en route to his BBL Championship career-high.

The Riders took advantage of the Lions lack of physical presence and rim protection, with Josh Sharma sidelined, connecting on 47% (16/34) of their shots inside the arc.

However, London outgunned the East Midlanders from beyond the 3-point line connecting on 44% (12/27) of their attempts from long-range. Pick-and-roll specialist, Luke Nelson, led the team with three triples, followed by Mo Soluade, Miye Oni, Aaron Best and Tomislav "Zuba" Zubcic who all had knocked down two each; Josh Ward-Hibbert had hit one 3-pointer.

The Lions now-famed defensive identity not only smothered the Riders 3-point shooting to an inefficient 30% (8/26) but also caused the former league champs to turn the ball over 16 times, recirding eight steals and 17 fast break pioints as a result.

Respected sniper Tomislav Zubcic contributed 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists whilst knocking down both of his 3-pointers to help London power past Leicester. Jordan Taylor, who came up with a clutch rebound in the dying seconds of the game, led the game with four steals to go with three rebounds and seven points.

Lion-hearted Aaron Best fought through brutal fouls to record eight points, three rebounds and three assists. Vojtech Hruban recorded six points, four rebounds, two assists and one block.

Luke Nelson led the bench mob with 16 points, to go with three rebounds, three assists and one steal, whilst knocking down three long-range and much-needed triples. Morayo Soluade led the team with seven rebounds, which he complimented with eight points, one assists and one steal.
