The London Lions completed the double over the Sheffield Sharks, a closely fought 89-79 victory in Yorkshire, to extend their BBL win-streak to 11 games.

London were led by Conor Morgan’s 20 points, with Josh Sharma chipping in 14 and Matt Morgan 12. While the unavailable David Nwaba was replaced by Luke Nelson in the starting five.

Their second loss in a row to the league leaders puts the Sheffield Sharks on a losing record of 11-13, yet they closely competed with the star-studded Lions in this back-to-back.

The cagey first quarter finished 16-15 tothe visitors. Jordan Taylor scored his only points of the game, with a nicefinger-roll, to give the Lions an advantage going into the second quarter with40 seconds remaining.

It was the second quarter where the Lionsoutscored the Sharks by 11 to move the game in their favour and they led 47-35going into the half.

One of the plays of the game came in the thirdquarter as Tarik Phillip’s nasty crossover deceived a defender to leave himwith an open lane towards the basket and he finished strongly at the rim. TheSharks outscored the Lions in the third quarter though, and made five threes toset up the fourth with the Lions only leading by five 65-60.

Mid-way through the fourth quarter, GabrielOlaseni and Donte Grantham combined for a flashy fast-break as Graham returnedthe ball to Olaseni with a behind-the-back pass and Olaseni finished off theglass.

It was Morgan who closed the game out for Londonthough, with eight-straight Lions points in the clutch to end the game and 15of his 20 points in the final 10 minutes.

The Sharks remain in the mid-table scrambleto improve their play-off standings as they visit the Leicester Riders laternext week.

For the Lions, they next travel down Southto visit the Bristol Flyers looking to extend their BBL winning streak evenfurther.
