London Lions guard Annika Shah has been named to the SLB Team of the Year following a record-breaking rookie season.

Shah averaged 19.8 points per game (second in SLB), 5.2 assists per game (second in SLB), and 1.5 steals per game, while also leading the league with 56 made three-pointers. She scored 20+ points in 11 of 19 regular season games and recorded a career-high 29 points twice, cementing her role as one of the league’s most dynamic offensive players.

Her 19.8 points per game also stands as the highest scoring average in London Lions franchise history, while becoming just the second player in club history to knock down 50+ three-pointers in a single season.

Reflecting on the honor, Shah spoke about the people around her who helped make the season possible.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized in my rookie season. I’m grateful to my coaches and teammates who trusted me from day one and pushed me to grow every step of the way. I’ve learned so much this season, but I know this is only the beginning.”

London Lions Women’s Head Coach Kyla Nelson praised Shah’s impact both on and off the floor throughout the season.

“Annika came in ready to prove herself and fully bought into the organisation from the beginning. She has been an integral part of the start of the rebuild for the women’s programme and has taken major steps in her first year as a professional. She’s someone who never looks for individual recognition, which is why I’m especially happy to see her rewarded for the consistency and impact she’s had across the league this season.”

Shah’s recognition caps off a historic debut campaign and highlights her emergence as one of the league’s brightest young stars moving forward.
