London, Wednesday 26 August 2026 – The London Lions Women have announced the return of Annika Shah, with the American guard signing a contract extension after a record-breaking rookie season in the capital.

Shah established herself as one of the SLBW’s standout performers during the 2025-26 campaign, earning SLBW Team of the Year honours after averaging 19.8 points and 5.2 assists per game, ranking second in the league in both categories.

One of the competition’s most dangerous perimeter threats, Shah led the SLBW with 56 made three-pointers while finishing the season with 356 total points, the third-highest single-season points total in London Lions history.

Her 19.8 points per game also marked the highest scoring average by any player in club history, while she became just the second player in Lions history to make 50 or more three-pointers in a single season.

A proven scorer and playmaker, Shah’s ability to create for her teammates, stretch the floor and deliver in key moments made her one of the league’s most exciting players to watch throughout the campaign.

London Lions General Manager Ruchae Walton said:

“Annika made an immediate impact in the league during her rookie season and has quickly become very popular amongst the fans. Her passion for the game and commitment to getting better set her apart both on and off the court. She brings an infectious energy every time she steps onto the floor, and her ability to make big plays has made her a fan favourite. We’re excited to continue building with a player of her calibre, and I know our fans are looking forward to seeing even more unforgettable ‘Chef Shah’ highlights this season.”

Shah’s return provides the Lions with continuity, leadership and significant offensive firepower as the club prepares for the 2026-27 season, with the American guard now looking to build on a record-breaking first campaign in London.
