London Lions are thrilled to announce the addition of GB guard Katie Cox for the upcoming season.

The 17-year-old spent time with Richmond Knights as an U16 before making the step up to the Women’s British Basketball League last season with Sevenoaks Suns.

Cox has represented the Great British national team over the last two summers, attending the U16 and U18 European Championships. In 2022, as captain of the GB Under-16 side, Cox averaged 10.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.7 blocks per game. In 2023 at the U18 European Championships Cox averaged 7.7 points and 6.8 rebounds.

Cox’s talents go beyond the basketball court; a dual-athlete, she is currently a goalkeeper for Chelsea Football Club and has represented her country.

General Manager, Vanja Cernivec said -
“We’re really excited to have Katie join us this season. She really wants to continue her dual-athlete career, and we’ll do everything we can to support her with that.”
