London, Monday 7 September 2026 – The London Lions wrapped up their preseason trip to Lithuania with a 2-1 record, gaining valuable minutes against European opposition as they begin preparations for the new campaign.
London opened the trip against Lietkabelis, falling 89-83, with Keenan Evans leading the Lions with 13 points. After missing an extended period through injury before arriving in London, Evans showed encouraging signs of his return to form, while Deane Williams and Joel Scott added 12 points apiece and Tarik Phillip finished with 11.
The Lions responded with back-to-back victories to close the trip. Against Sabah BK, Devante Jones led the way with 17 points in an 86-82 win, with the EuroCup First Team selection making an immediate impact in the Lions’ preseason campaign.
Evans continued his strong showing with 15 points, shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and 2-of-2 from three, while Maxwell Lewis and Thomas Kennedy added 11 each.
London then produced its strongest performance of the trip against Juventus, Lewis’s former team, running out 83-59 winners. Lewis led all Lions scorers with 14 points, while Mo Soluade and Kennedy added 11 apiece.
The Lions also saved their most impressive defensive display for last, holding Juventus to just 59 points to close the trip on a high.
With three games and valuable time together under their belt, the Lions now return to London for the London Lions Invitational, which tips off at the Copper Box Arena on Thursday 10 September.
London faces Śląsk Wrocław at 5:30pm, followed by Žalgiris Kaunas vs Paris Basketball at 8:30pm, before the tournament concludes on Friday with the third-place and championship games.
