GB Center, 2012 Olympian and former WNBA Champion, Temi Fagbenle, will join the London Lions for their upcoming 2023/24 season.

The 6ft 4' star brings a wealth of international, Euroleague and WNBA experience to the London Lions, as they embark on another ambitious year in their quest for silverware in Europe.

London Lions General Manager, Vanja Cernivec, said ‘We are delighted to have Temi joining us for the upcoming season. As one of the greatest players Great Britain has produced, we are privileged to be working with her and appreciate her trust in what we are building here at the Lions. We all know what she is capable of on the court but the leadership she will bring off-court too, will no doubt prove invaluable’

Born in Baltimore USA, Fagbenle moved to the UK at age 2, where she began playing basketball at Haringey Angels. At the age of 15, she returned to the USA where she later studied at Harvard University before transferring to the University of Southern California playing NCAA for her final year.

As well as representing GB at U16, U18 & U20; Fagbenle was fast-tracked for selection at the London 2012 Olympic Games. In 2016, the Minnesota Lynx selected Fagbenle in the third round of the WNBA draft; where in 2017 the team went on to win the WNBA Championship.

Most recently in 2022/23, the center was playing for Euroleague’s ZVVZ USK Praha and CBK Mersin Yenisehir but now returns home to Great Britain to play domestic basketball in the WBBL for the first time.
