London, Monday 24 August 2026 – The London Lions Women have added Canadian centre Julia Tuchscherer to their roster ahead of the 2026-27 Super League Basketball Women (SLBW) season.

The 6’2” centre joins the Lions following an outstanding collegiate career at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), where she established herself as one of the top players in Canada West.

Tuchscherer was named a Canada West First Team All-Star in both 2024-25 and 2025-26, capping her collegiate career with a standout final season in which she averaged 16.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Her efficient scoring and ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor made her a dominant presence throughout her final campaign.

She leaves UFV among the programme’s all-time statistical leaders, finishing her career first in blocks (165), second in assists (259), third in rebounds (681), and fifth in total points (1,164).

Tuchscherer brings a versatile skill set to the Lions’ frontcourt, with her ability to protect the rim, control the glass and create plays for her teammates adding size and versatility to the roster. Her high basketball IQ and strong work ethic will also be valuable as she makes the transition to professional basketball.

London Lions General Manager Ruchae Walton said:

“I’m delighted that Julia is beginning her professional career here in London. She was a dominant force for UFV last season, and I believe her game will translate extremely well to the SLB. She adds size and strength to our roster, giving us even greater depth and versatility.”

Tuchscherer now begins the next chapter of her career in London, bringing her two-way ability and strong collegiate résumé to the Lions as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
