London, Tuesday 16 June 2026 - London Lions are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian forward Thomas Kennedy for the 2026-27 season, bringing a physical, experienced interior presence to the capital.
Kennedy, 25, joins the Lions off the back of a title-winning campaign with Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, where he claimed the Slovenian League Championship and the Slovenian Supercup in 2025-26. The 6'9" centre was a key contributor across multiple competitions, helping Cedevita to the EuroCup Quarterfinals.
His European pedigree is exactly the kind of experience the Lions will lean on as they return to continental competition. Kennedy featured in 18 EuroCup games last season, averaging 7.9 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting an efficient 61.7 per cent from the field, and added a further 25 games in the ABA League, one of the toughest regional competitions in Europe. Before his move to Slovenia, he spent two seasons in the German Bundesliga with Telekom Baskets Bonn, also competing in the Basketball Champions League.
A full Canadian international, Kennedy has represented his country at senior level since 2022, winning a bronze medal at the FIBA AmeriCup that year and featuring in the qualifying campaigns since. He arrived in the professional game after a standout college career at the University of Windsor, where he was named the league’s Player of the Year in 2023.
General Manager Martynas Purlys said: “Thomas is a true centre who brings exactly what we need in the paint. His experience across the EuroCup, the ABA League and the German Bundesliga speaks for itself. He is a dominant, physical presence that elevates any roster.”
Kennedy becomes the fifth confirmed signing of the offseason, joining returnees Deane Williams, Joel Scott and Ethan Price, and fellow new arrival Emilis Zibuda, as London build towards the new campaign.
