London, 1 June 2026 - London Lions can confirm that forward Ciaran Sandy will depart the club after three seasons in the capital.
A London native, Sandy joined the Lions in 2023 off the back of his college career at Mercyhurst University. He quickly settled into the rotation and went on to feature in more than 100 games for the club across three campaigns, contributing at both ends of the floor and stepping up in European competition.
His time at the Lions was defined by silverware. Sandy played a key role in this season’s quadruple-winning side and claimed the British League regular season title in each of his three seasons, lifting the Playoff title in both 2024 and 2026. He also got a taste of the continental game, reaching the EuroCup Semifinals in 2024 and featuring in eight EuroCup games this past season.
The 6'7" forward leaves as a multiple-time champion and a player whose graft was felt well beyond the box score.
London Lions General Manager Martynas Purlys said: “Ciaran has been a fantastic part of this club and someone I have a huge amount of respect for. He gave everything for London Lions and his commitment both on and off the court, has not gone unnoticed. We are sad to see him go but we wish him nothing but the best in the next step of his career.”
The club thanks Ciaran for his service and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.
