London, UK – Friday 27 March – The London Lions are proud to announce a new three-year partnership with leading London developer Mount Anvil, reinforcing a shared commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for communities across the capital through the power of basketball.

Building on a successful, multi-year collaboration to date, the partnership will focus on delivering impactful programmes that support youth development, skills-building, wellbeing and increased access to high-quality basketball opportunities. While unconventional for the residential development sector, the unique partnership bringing together housing delivery, community investment and basketball was conceived to serve young people in London in a highly relevant, active, and engaging way within their neighbourhoods.

Together, the London Lions and Mount Anvil will work closely within neighbourhoods across London, using sport as a platform to inspire, empower and connect local communities.

Through this renewed agreement, both organisations will expand their work engaging young people and residents, creating pathways that extend beyond the court and contribute to long-term positive social outcomes.

Danielle Clare, Senior Marketing Manager at Mount Anvil, said:

“We’re proud to announce the continuation of our partnership with the London Lions, strengthening a shared commitment to delivering meaningful community and social value across our London neighbourhoods. The partnership unites us; we know London inside out and we’ll be working together with a shared understanding of the city’s diverse communities.

“Building on a successful collaboration to date, the renewed partnership will expand our programmes, focusing on youth development, skills-building, wellbeing and access to high-quality basketball opportunities. Together, along with support from Mount Anvil’s partners, we’ll continue to harness the power of sport to inspire, empower and create long-term positive change for local communities.”

Tom Beardmore, Social Value & Community Engagement Director at Mount Anvil, added:

“Our work with the Lions is rooted in a shared ambition to create inclusive opportunities that help communities connect and thrive. After starting this partnership in 2023, it has been great to see wider support for basketball in communities growing across London, especially from the Mayor and Greater London Authority. This next phase will allow us to reach more Londoners and make an even greater impact and we’re grateful for the support that has made this possible.

“Our collaboration has already made a real difference in our communities, highlighted by our work with the Cubitt Town Girls Group in the Isle of Dogs, where the London Lions facilitated workshops and performances at half-time shows at the Copper Box in Stratford. This is what ‘London meets London’ looks like in action, local organisations coming together to create real opportunities for local people. We can’t wait to connect more of our communities with the London Lions.”

Justinas Liaudinskas, London Lions Head of Partnerships said:

“At the London Lions, we believe basketball can be a powerful force for good. Partnering with Mount Anvil allows us to deepen that impact in the communities we serve, creating more opportunities for young people and bringing people together across the city. This is a partnership built on shared values and we’re proud to take this next step together.”

The partnership will also see Mount Anvil integrated into London Lions game day experiences and digital platforms, helping to amplify the reach and visibility of community initiatives while bringing fans closer to the impact being delivered off the court.

Together, the London Lions and Mount Anvil are committed to building stronger, more connected communities across London, ensuring that basketball continues to be a powerful tool for positive change.
