London Lions & iPRO Announce Landmark Partnership Deal
The London Lions are proud and excited to announce iPRO as the team’s Official Hydration Partner. The landmark deal serves as a testament to the growth of basketball in the UK. This represents the first agreement of this kind in the Lions' history and comes as the club continues on its record-breaking season, becoming the first to win both the men’s and women’s Cup Finals in the same year.
This trailblazing agreement comes amidst the Lions’ collective record-breaking season, becoming the first-ever club to win the men’s and women’s BBL and WBBL Cups at the same finals.
Both the men’s and women’s teams will receive reusable iPRO hardware for accessible hydration during regular season games and to keep iPRO’s healthy hydration cool for player rehydration.
The iPRO Sport Edition range is Informed-Sport certified - the quality assurance programme in sports nutrition - and a market-leading healthy hydration drink trusted by sporting organisations worldwide. Infused with electrolytes and supplemented with vitamins, iPRO Sport Edition is the gold standard in rehydration to help fuel performance and support recovery, provided in fully recyclable packaging.
After making history in the cup finals, both sides also sit on top of the BBL and WBBL tables, respectively. These accolades add to an already momentous season for the club after the men's team also became the first British club to qualify for the 7Days EuroCup playoffs in the 21-year history of the competition. The women's team are the first British club to qualify for playoffs of the FIBA Women's EuroCup in back-to-back seasons.
Professional basketball in the UK continues to rise rapidly as the Copper Box Arena - the Lions' home venue - has witnessed record crowds this season, alongside sell-out finals over the past season at the O2 Arena in London & Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
Lenz Balan, Vice President of 777 Partners, owners of the London Lions, said:
"We're delighted to announce iPRO as our official hydration partner - they are market leaders in this space and share our commitment in terms of providing the best performance support for our players. I believe this marks just the first of many more significant partnerships to come, especially given our recent success both domestically and in the EuroCup, alongside the impressive growth of the sport as a whole in the UK.”
Lucy Darrall, iPRO Global Partnerships Manager, commented:
“Optimum hydration is of extreme importance in Basketball where games have such high intensity. iPRO are proud to be the chosen hydration partner of the London Lions and to be a part of the Club’s ambitions over the next five to ten years to be a core part of the huge growth of Basketball in the UK.”
