The London Lions are thrilled to announce the signing of Megan Gustafson, 6’4" center from Wisconsin, USA, for the upcoming 2023/24 basketball season.

Gustafson attended the University of Iowa from 2015 to 2019, and made her mark during her four years. During her senior season Gustafson won a number of accolades, with honours including ESPNW National Player of the Year, AP Player of the Year, Big Ten Athlete of the Year, and the prestigious Naismith Trophy. Averaging an astonishing 27.8 points and 13.4 rebounds per game over her final season, she left a huge mark on college basketball history.

Gustafson tied the NCAA record with 33 double-doubles in a single season and established the record for the most made field goals in a season with an impressive 412. Her impact on the court was further acknowledged by being named the Big Ten Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Year in both 2018 and 2019.

Gustafson was drafted in the second round (17th overall) by the Dallas Wings in the 2019 WNBA Draft and went on to play for the Washington Mystics the following season. Megan is currently playing for the Phoenix Mercury where she’s averaging 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Her international experience includes stints with Polish EuroCup teams InvestInTheWest ENEA Gorzow and VBW Arka Gdynia, as well as two seasons with Greek Euroleague side Olympiacos, where she averaged 22.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in EuroLeague.
