London, Tuesday 14 2026 - London Lions have appointed Steve Devereux as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer. Devereux will report to Club President Lenz Balan and lead the club’s commercial growth.
Devereux joins the Lions with more than 11 years of experience in British sport and basketball, having held a range of roles at Bristol Sport, the group that houses Bristol City Football Club, Bristol Bears Rugby and Bristol Flyers Basketball. He arrives with a deep understanding of the commercial, operational and sporting sides of running a multi-sport organisation.
He joins the leadership team at a pivotal moment for the club, with London established as a domestic powerhouse and a regular presence in elite European competition.
Balan said: “Steve’s commercial and operational experience makes him the right addition as we push forward on our ambitions to build a global basketball brand competing at the very top of European basketball. I’m delighted to welcome him to the Lions.”
On his appointment, Devereux said: “The London Lions are at the forefront of British basketball, both on and off the court, and in recent years have become a domestic powerhouse representing the country in elite European competition.
“With so much ambition and multiple exciting plans in the pipeline, now is the perfect time to join the club, so I look forward to meeting everyone and getting started.”
The appointment marks the next step in the club’s long-term ambitions as the Lions continue to build on and off the floor, with immediate focus on defending a historic domestic quadruple winning season, growing the Lions’ fanbase and delivering a continued strong commercial return for the club.
