London, Tuesday 13 October 2026 — The London Lions NextGen team will return to the adidas Next Generation EuroLeague (ANGT) this season, competing in the Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Vienna from November 27-29.
The Lions will be one of eight teams competing in Vienna, joining host Vienna Basketball, Abu Dhabi Wildcats, Cholet Basket, Neptunas Klaipeda, Orange1 Bassano, Veolia Towers Hamburg and an adidas Select Program team.
The winner of the Vienna Pre-Qualifier will earn a place in the ANGT Qualifying Tournament in Paris in February 2027, providing another route into one of European basketball’s leading youth competitions.
The 2026-27 ANGT features 40 Under-18 programmes from 15 countries across six tournaments, with the introduction of two Pre-Qualifying Tournaments giving more clubs and academies the opportunity to compete on the continental stage.
London will begin preparations with a training camp from November 21-25 before travelling to Vienna on November 26. The team will return to London on November 30.
London Stars Academy General Manager Igor Chytrzynski will serve as Team Manager, with Jordanas Mejeras as Head Coach, supported by Assistant Coaches Kyla Nelson and Liam Jefferson. Domantas Tautkus will oversee strength and conditioning, with a team physiotherapist to be confirmed.
The Lions’ continued participation in the ANGT reflects the club’s commitment to developing young talent and creating a pathway towards the professional game. The competition has previously featured players who have gone on to become NBA and EuroLeague stars, including Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, Victor Wembanyama, Kristaps Porziņģis and Domantas Sabonis.
The Lions will look to secure their place in the Paris Qualifying Tournament when they take the court in Vienna later this November.
