London, Friday 24 July 2026 – The London Lions are delighted to announce the return of Monique Esbrand for the 2026-27 season, with the London-born guard set to enter her third consecutive campaign with her hometown club.

Since joining the Lions in 2024, Esbrand has established herself as one of the team's most reliable two-way players, bringing relentless defensive intensity, leadership, and versatility on both ends of the floor.

During the 2025-26 campaign, Esbrand averaged 6.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, cementing her role as one of the Lions' primary perimeter defenders while consistently providing energy and scoring at all three levels.

Known for playing with passion and intensity every time she steps on the floor, Esbrand has become an important leader within the squad and will once again bring experience and continuity to the Lions as they prepare for the new season.

London Lions General Manager Ruchae Walton is excited to see Esbrand continue her journey with the club.

"Monique has been instrumental in our organisation's growth and success over the past two seasons. She's relentless on defence and has the ability to score at all three levels. She leads by example, and I know how much it means to her to represent her hometown. Her commitment to the club and passion for the game are truly admirable. I'm excited to see her continue to grow, elevate her game, and make an even greater impact in her third year with us."

Returning for a third consecutive season with her hometown club, Esbrand brings continuity, leadership and defensive intensity to a Lions squad looking to challenge at the top of the SLBW in 2026-27.
