London, Thursday 23 July 2026 – The London Lions have strengthened their backcourt ahead of the 2026/27 season with the signing of American guard Amaris Baker.
A dynamic scorer and proven winner, Baker arrives in London after an outstanding collegiate career at Drexel University, where she developed into one of the Colonial Athletic Association's premier guards. The Philadelphia native earned All-CAA First Team honours in consecutive seasons (2024-25 and 2025-26), while also being named to the All-Big 5 First Team in back-to-back years. She played a pivotal role in Drexel's 2024 CAA Tournament championship run, earning Most Outstanding Player honours.
Baker began her collegiate career at Kennesaw State before transferring to Drexel, where she flourished over the next three seasons. In her senior campaign, she averaged 18.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, shooting 40.8% from the field, 30.7% from three-point range, and 78.6% from the free-throw line across 32 starts. She also recorded 17.0 points per game during the 2024/25 season, finishing her Drexel career with more than 1,400 points and establishing herself as one of the conference's most consistent offensive threats.
Head Coach Kyla Nelson believes Baker's competitive edge and versatility make her an ideal fit for the Lions.

Known for her ability to create her own shot, attack the basket, and make winning plays on both ends of the floor, Baker brings another offensive weapon to a Lions squad preparing for the upcoming Super League Basketball season.
