Experienced EuroLeague and NBA guard joins the Lions following injury to Shavar Reynolds Jr.

LONDON, Friday 17th October - The London Lions are pleased to announce the signing of American guard Chasson Randle on a short-term contract, strengthening the team’s backcourt during Shavar Reynolds Jr.’s recovery from injury.

Randle, 32, brings elite international pedigree to the Lions, with a career spanning the NBA, EuroLeague, ACB, NBL, and G League, and will temporarily replace Reynolds Jr who is expected to be out for three months with a knee injury.

A proven winner, he captured a EuroLeague title with Real Madrid in 2018, a G League championship, and multiple domestic honours across Europe. The 6’2” guard from Rock Island, Illinois, played collegiately at Stanford University, graduating as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,375 points.

Since turning professional, Randle has represented teams including Real Madrid, Washington Wizards, Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, and Philadelphia 76ers, consistently demonstrating leadership, efficiency, and composure at the highest levels of competition.

During his time with the Washington Wizards in 2018–19, Randle shared the backcourt with former London Lions star and British Basketball League MVP Sam Dekker.

An experienced international performer, Randle has also represented USA Basketball at multiple levels, winning gold at both the FIBA U17 World Championship (2010) and the FIBA U16 Tournament of the Americas (2009).

Known for his court vision, defensive awareness, and clutch shooting, he brings veteran stability and scoring punch to London’s backcourt rotation.

“We are happy to announce that guard Chasson Randle has joined the London Lions family,” General Manager Martynas Purlys said.

“We believe that Chasson’s NBA and international experience will be a valuable asset to the London Lions in both the EuroCup and SLB competitions.”

The Lions wish Shavar Reynolds Jr. a full and speedy recovery.

Randle is expected to make his Lions debut this weekend as London returns to Super League Basketball action against Caledonia at NCC Hackney (5:45pm tip).
