London, Monday 15 June 2026 - London Lions are excited to announce the signing of multi-faceted prospect Emilis Zibuda for the 2026-27 season, adding one of the brightest young prospects in the UK to the squad.
Zibuda, a 6'7" 18-year-old guard/forward, is a product of the London Stars programme in East London and has most recently been developing his game stateside at Layton Christian Academy in the United States.
A dual British and Lithuanian passport holder, the move sees him return to London to take the next step in his career with the reigning quadruple winners. He arrives with a growing international and elite-level résumé.
Zibuda has represented the Lithuanian Under-16 national team and last summer was one of 60 high-school-age players selected to the NBA and FIBA’s Basketball Without Borders Europe camp, held at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester. He won the camp’s three-point contest.
This past season he represented the Lions at the EuroLeague adidas Next Generation Tournament, where he averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals before the tournament in Abu Dhabi was brought to an early close.
A guard/wing with range and a clear upward trajectory, Zibuda represents exactly the kind of young talent the Lions are looking to develop and build around for the seasons ahead.
General Manager Martynas Purlys said: “Emilis impressed us greatly at Euroleague’s Next Gen tournament this season. His basketball IQ, ability to play multiple positions and maturity on the court at such a young age are truly remarkable. The natural next step was to bring him into the main squad and we are delighted to welcome him to the London Lions men’s team.”
Zibuda becomes the fourth confirmed signing of the offseason, joining returnees Deane Williams, Joel Scott and Ethan Price as London build towards the 2026-27 campaign.
