The 2022-23 BBL & WBBL Championship Finals are Here!

After a combined 240 minutes of post-season action, fending off challenges from the likes of Newcastle, Sevenoaks, and Cheshire, we have finally arrived at the penultimate games of the 2022-23 season. The showpiece Playoff Finals!

The London Lions men’s and women’s teams will face off against arch-rivals the Leicester Riders this Sunday, 14^th May 2023, at The O2 Arena.

Over the years, the British Basketball has witnessed its fair share of bitter rival clashes involving the London Towers against the London Leopards, the Leicester Riders men's team against the Newcastle Eagles and the Sevenoaks Suns against the Nottingham Wildcats.

However, in this new dawn of professional basketball, we are now witnessing a new burgeoning rivalry between the London Lions and Leicester Riders.

Albeit one-sided thus far this year, with the Lions’ men’s team taking the Riders’ men’s team to task four times during the season and in the 2023 BBL Cup Final, each game has been tough, tense and filled with technicals. That said, the East Midlanders currently own bragging rights over the Londoners, having beat the Lions 78–75 in last year’s final.

The London Lions women’s team will go to war with the Leicester Riders women’s team for the fifth time this season, beating them all five times, with the most notable victories being in the WBBL Cup and Trophy finals.

Last season’s championship final (barring the result) was incredible… however this season’s final will be historic. Tickets to the final are selling fast, and we do NOT want YOU, our fans, the PRIDE to miss out on the action.
