The Lions have added size and presence to their frontcourt for the 26/27 season, signing 6’2 Canadian centre Julia Tuchscherer following an outstanding collegiate career at the University of the Fraser Valley. Tuchscherer arrives in the capital after establishing herself as one of the top players in Canada West.A two-time Canada West First Team All-Star (2024–25, 2025–26), she averaged 16.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game during her final season, combining efficient scoring with a dominant presence on both ends of the floor. She leaves the University of the Fraser Valley as one of the most accomplished players in programme history, finishing her career ranked first in blocks (165), second in assists (259), third in rebounds (681) and fifth in total points (1,164).
