The Lions have strengthened their frontcourt for the 2026/27 season, signing Nigerian centre, Veronica Iweanya following six successful seasons with Bristol Flyers in the WNBL Division 1. Iweanya arrives in the capital after another outstanding campaign, averaging 9.5 points and 13.4 rebounds per game while finishing among the top five rebounders in WNBL D1. Her performances earned her a place on the WNBL Division One All-Imports Team for the 2025/26 season. A relentless presence on the glass, Iweanya has built a reputation as one of the league’s most dominant rebounders, combining strength, physicality and defensive awareness to make an impact on both ends of the floor. Bringing six years of experience within the British basketball system, Iweanya arrives in London ready to make an immediate impact as the Lions prepare for the 2026/27 campaign.
